Since 1983, Mercy Housing and Shelter has been working to empower homeless persons to become independent, so they may live and work with dignity and respect.

We continue to open our arms to embrace and help all of those in need. Each and every person who comes to us in need has a story. Their stories are tragic, heroic, and at times desperate, and we embrace each as we strive to live out our core values of: RESPECT, COMPASSION, and RESPONSIBILITY. We do not take our responsibility lightly, because we know their lives are in our hands.

In the past year Mercy Housing and Shelter's programs served more than 5,700 individuals providing housing, food, job training, access to medical services, and basic human needs. This number includes: 353 individuals who were provided housing in our residential program at St. Elizabeth House and Shepherd Home; 45 women were provided housing and support at Catherine's Place; 21 individuals were provided permanent supportive housing at The Residence at St. Mary's; Supportive Housing assisted 83 households in scattered-site housing; and the Friendship Center served more than 67,000 meals to 5,100 individuals.

The generosity of our donors who provide financial assistance and in-kind donations allow us to continue to assist homeless men, woman, and children and those at immediate risk of being homeless.
